SOUTH KING COUNTY
Plumbing Service Areas Near Federal Way, WA
Federal Way sits on the seam between south King County and north Pierce County, which means our working area crosses a county line, several water utilities and two different sets of side sewer rules.
That seam is genuinely relevant to the work rather than a marketing line. A side sewer repair in Federal Way is permitted by Lakehaven Water and Sewer District. The same repair a few miles south in Tacoma is permitted by the City and requires a contractor licensed and bonded with Tacoma specifically. In Kent, the utility that serves your street might be the City, or Soos Creek, or Lakehaven again, depending on the address.
We keep that detail straight so you do not have to. Below are the areas we cover, ordered by how much work actually comes from each.

Why the radius stops where it does
The ten areas listed below sit within roughly ten miles of Federal Way. That is not a marketing radius, it is the distance a van can cover and still give someone an honest arrival window on the same day. Beyond it the promise stops being credible, so we do not make it.
Within that ring the mix is unusually varied for such a short distance. Tacoma is more than twice Federal Way's size and has housing stock decades older. Ruston has under a thousand residents. Fife and Sumner sit on valley ground that behaves nothing like the till Federal Way sits on. A plumber working this patch needs to know which set of rules applies before quoting anything underground.
The county line runs through the middle of our work
Federal Way is the southern edge of King County. Tacoma, Fife, Puyallup, Sumner and Ruston are all in Pierce County. That line changes permitting authority, changes which contractors are allowed to work in a given right of way, and in Tacoma's case adds a pre sale sewer inspection requirement that has no equivalent on the King County side.
It also changes the water. Federal Way and much of Kent draw on groundwater with real iron and manganese content, while Tacoma runs on Green River surface supply. That single difference explains why a staining complaint from one address and the same complaint from an address eight miles away can have completely different answers.

Inside Federal Way
Within the city we cover every neighborhood. The lakes and the shoreline generate different work: houses around Steel Lake and Mirror Lake sit on ground that holds water longer, while the Redondo and Dash Point slopes put real load on older side sewers. The Federal Way homepage covers what we see across the city, and if the problem is a line that keeps blocking, the side sewer page is the more useful read.
